Science

Today we joined Mr. Hudson's 5th grade class to look at different things under the microscopes. The students got to look at a butterfly wing, frog egg, dragonfly wing, and a silk worm.  Next, they were taught how to make a slide of their own.  The 5th grade students placed a piece of onion on the slide and then squirted a drop of iodine.  Their 1st grade partner covered the onion slide and then it was placed under the microscope for viewing. Each student viewed the slide and drew a picture of what they saw.

Next week we will join Mr. Hudson's class to create slides of different things around the school!
